I essentially figured out that if a constraint comes in your way, you have to find a creative way out. And working on start-ups, 80% of the time, constraints came - every time, either I learned something new or did some kind of jugaad.
It reminds me of what I have learned so far - I can design creatives on Canva, ui on Figma, build automation on Python, Zapier, code front-end, back-end, apps, write creative stuff on WhatsApp, automate it for leads, send emails that click, hire good people, prepare bang-on pitch decks, and file my taxes.
Master of all, jack of none, but often better than the master of one
Let me quickly tell you the 3 most interesting jugaads I have done →
Ayurved India Movement: A WhatsApp referral system giving you a mission to support and goodies to win, just like Habuild Yoga by Saurabh Bothra (habuild.yoga).
Star Cohort at the 5 AM Club: Our users get paired up with new website leads, creating an organic connection instead of a lame sales call.
Automating: 60% of work at the 5 AM Club using AI pipelines, outsourcing 30% to specific guys who work 2-3 hrs/week (micro hiring), and I carry the rest of the 10% work.
PS: The essence is to copy good things which have worked for others, learn new things; almost most new skills can be learned within 2 hrs - yes, try something and you will see it; it's easy to do the basics of it.
